ARIJ20 report
What do you mean by “Registration”?

It means you are interested in participating in the ARIJ 13th Annual Forum (1st Virtual Annual Forum). You will need confirmation of registration in order to participate.

Do I have to pay to register?

No, you do not have to pay anything to register. The cost of the registration is covered by ARIJ and its partners.

Who is the target audience?

Registration is free for investigative journalists and journalists from all over the world interested in covering issues related to the Arab world, including Arab university professors and journalism and Media university students.

When and where is the Forum?

#ARIJ20 will be held fully online and virtual from December 4-6, 2020.

Will there be a physical Forum in 2021?

Yes, so far we are planning to have ARIJ’s 14th Annual Forum in Jordan. However, we are following COVID-19 developments closely and monitoring the situation.

What languages will be used at the Forum?

The official languages at the Forum are Arabic and English. Simultaneous interpreters will be present during all sessions.

Who is speaking and what can we expect?

We have organised more than 30 panels, training sessions, plenary sessions and workshops, bringing in the world’s leading investigative reporters, editors, producers and media development experts. We will share more details about the speakers along with the agenda as the date approaches.

How can I become a sponsor?

Each year we depend on the generosity and support of media partners, IJ supporters, media outlets, foundations, law firms, banks, and corporations to organise the ARIJ Forum. This event is central to ARIJ’s mission to train and equip journalists to become society’s “watchdogs” in favour of democracy, transparency and the rule of law.

The ARIJ Forum provides a great recruiting opportunity for major sponsors. Sponsor support helps us keep registration fees low, ensuring that attendance remains robust, and travel budgets lean. Our sponsors and partners are a central part of our annual Forum for the following reasons:
  • Media around the world face declining revenue even as they struggle to embrace new tools and technologies for disseminating information to the public.
  • “Good journalism practices” end up by the wayside when scores of journalists are laid off due to worsening economics in the media industry. Your company can help by supporting the training of Entrepreneurial Investigative Journalists.
  • This training is about how to develop multiple sources of revenue for independent media practitioners. It’s also about using new professional tools in a fast-changing sector. Supporting independent media accelerates the pace towards democracy by providing a “voice to the voiceless”, allowing people to make fact-based decisions and hold leaders accountable.

Join us at one of the most significant Forums in Journalism in the Arab World. Benefit from 160+ speakers from 60+ countries, offering over 50 sessions to equip yourself with the needed tools to provide better reporting.
